✈ EAA Young Eagles Program

First Flights That Change Lives

Young Eagles is the world's largest youth aviation program — and VSF105 is proud to be an active chapter. We provide free airplane rides to children ages 8–17, introducing them to general aviation and the possibilities that come with it.

No experience needed. Just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a desire to look at the world from 3,000 feet. Volunteer pilots donate their time and aircraft to make every flight possible.

Aircraft cockpit instruments Training

Pilot Training Support

VSF105 connects student pilots with experienced Certificated Flight Instructors (CFIs), provides ground school study groups, and offers mentorship from active members who have navigated every certificate from Sport Pilot to ATP.

Annual Fly-In & Open House

Every summer, VSF105 hosts a signature fly-in and open house that draws pilots and aviation fans from across East Tennessee and the greater Southeast. Enjoy aircraft displays, food, and a day of everything aviation.

Homebuilder's Workshop

For the EAA builders among us — the chapter supports experimental aircraft construction and restoration projects through shared workspace, tool access, and the collective expertise of experienced builders.

Community Outreach Flights

VSF105 pilots volunteer for community service missions including medical supply transport, search and rescue support coordination, and participation in state emergency response networks.

Chapter Meetups & $100 Hamburgers

Monthly chapter meetings, hangar talks, and informal $100 hamburger fly-outs to destinations around Tennessee and the Southeast. This is where friendships and aviation stories are made.

Aviation Safety Seminars

Regular safety seminars featuring FAA Wings credit opportunities, weather briefings, airspace refreshers, and guest presentations from air traffic controllers, experienced pilots, and aviation safety experts.
